Barney's Farm is a name that I'm sure you'll be familiar with if you've ever had any experience with cannabis or cannabis seeds before! They have a very rich history that dates back to the late 1980s! The story of Barney's Farm began quite unusually in the Himalayas with the founder Derry. Along with a group of breeders he started experimenting with a variety of marijuana strains from the Middle East and Asia. This journey provided them with a diverse collection of Sativa and Indica cultivars to work from. It's a bit like having a great range of colours to choose from when creating a painting. Whilst other seed banks were stuck creating strains from shades of black and grey, Derry was then able to produce remarkable strains using new genetics! This most certainly laid the foundation for one of the most prominent cannabis seed production businesses globally!
After refining his skills and collection in Asia, Derry returned to Amsterdam in 1992. He then opened Barney's Coffee Shop, where the popularity of his strains quickly soared! The uniqueness of Barney's Farm's beginnings contributed significantly to its vast popularity. These days Barney's Farm's strains and coffeeshops are both a must experience for cannabis enthusiasts.
